Health and Wellness
Staying healthy and active into ones 80s and 90s is no longer unusual. It’s the norm. Shepherd’s Centers offer an array of programs focused on enhancing and maintaining physical health and well-being. From weekly exercise classes, nutritional education, health screenings to health literacy initiatives, our Adventures in Wellness programs provide the knowledge, skills and social support for ensuring healthy lifestyles so participants can continue to do the things they most enjoy.
Classes include traditional favorites, such as Tai Chi, Yoga, water aerobics and chair exercises to line dancing, square dancing or Zumba.
Most centers also provide services promoting the wellness of caregivers so that these caregivers can remain healthy in their caregiving role. A variety of evidence-based support groups are offered in collaboration with community partners. Our trademark Breaktime Club provides caregivers a day of much needed respite while their loved one participates in enriching, social activities with others.
