The Impact Volunteers Make in Washington D.C. Diana is a client in her 80's who is legally blind and recovering from a shattered hip. She was referred to our Shepherd's Center by a social worker from the subsidized housing complex where she lives. As volunteers we are able to provide care, support, and friendship to Diana by providing services such as: shopping, decluttering, handy helpers, record keeping, friendly visitors and callers. We affectionately call the volunteers who help her 'Team Diana'. In a conversation with a Shepherd's Center staff member Diana said "You've thrown me a lifeline! I don't know what I would have done without the help Shepherd's Center and their volunteers".
