National Staff
Kay Wallick
Executive Director

Email: kwallick@shepherdcenters.org

Kay Wallick has a long history with the Shepherd’s Center movement having served as Executive Director of the first Shepherd’s Center in Kansas City, Missouri for seven years during the 90’s. She worked with Shepherd’s Centers of America for six months as a consultant, writing grant proposals and managing a pilot Benefits Check Up project through the National Council on the Aging. Subsequently, she served as Director of Programs and Member Services and Associate Director before being appointed as Executive Director in September, 2004. She has 25 years experience serving the community through social service administration, working with diverse populations and issues (older adults, at-risk youth, foster children and low income families). For three years she served as a consultant for over 20 nonprofit organizations, providing assistance in program evaluation, project management, strategic planning, grant writing, management training and organizational assessment. Ms. Wallick has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University.

Kay has a love for and commitment to the Shepherd’s Center concept and its importance to the future of aging in America. Her goals for 2005 include strengthening the national network through increased support. Cluster meetings and leadership training are being offered wherever there are Shepherd’s Centers to allow increased networking and sharing of best practices. In addition to the enhancement of member services, Kay is committed to building collaborations and partnerships with other national organizations in the ongoing dialogue on issues that affect older adults in this country.
